Since my husband and I work in different professions, it is very difficult to plan a long holiday together. Over the years we have learnt to take weekend trips together to make up for the loss. Last weekend, we were invited by a close friend who was having his wedding at the beach in Hawaii. There are many places in the world which allow people to get married at a beach and Hawaii is one of the popular ones. I can honestly say that this was one of the best short term trips we have ever had.

How did something like a wedding at the beach become one of the best short term trips for us? Well, first the location was absolutely stunning. The wedding was held early in the morning with the sun just rising over the horizon. I was totally taken up by the wedding gown the bride was wearing – the look was rich and the fabric looked very cool and soft. Not being able to resist my curiosity I finally asked her about who had stitched her gown. I was totally floored when she informed me that the all her beach wedding dresses including this gown were purchased online. I could not wait to see the other dresses that she had purchased for this occasion.

There was a party on the beach that evening – soft music, good wine and a delicious dinner. My husband got into the mood and turned romantic and has been like that ever since.
I keep reading about beach weddings, but this was the first time I was attending one and it turned out to be definitely one of the best short term trips I have had.
